Ibexes, marmots, picturesque Walser settlements and wonderful mountain panoramas. This hut tour takes you past striking peaks and through picturesque mountain valleys in the middle of the Grisons mountains. You will start your tour in Davos, the highest town in Europe. After a march up to the Jakobshorn, you will hike through the Sertig Valley to the famous Kesch Hut. Continue on to historic Bergün and past the Albula Pass. After another overnight stay in a hut you will finally reach the world famous St. Moritz.


Tour itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Davos

After arrival in Davos transfer up to Alp Clavadel at the foot of the Jakobshorn. 

Day 2: Davos - Sertigtal

Right at the beginning of the tour you can visit a show dairy. Afterwards, you will climb steeply up to the Jakobshorn, the local mountain of Davos. From here you have the first great view of the surrounding three-thousand-meter peaks. The tour continues over the Jatzhorn and the Tällifurgga into the Sertig valley. In the evening you can taste local specialties in the midst of the Grisons mountains. 

Walking time: approx. 5 - 6 hours, approx. km, +885 m / -995 m

Day 3: Sertigtal – Kesch-Hütte 

The Sertig valley is considered one of the most beautiful mountain valleys in Graubünden. Over idyllic field paths, the tour first leads leisurely along a small stream, before it goes steeply uphill to the Sertig Pass. You pass several small mountain lakes and finally reach the barren Val Tschüvel. You will spend the night in an SAC hut at the foot of the Piz Kesch at over 2,600 meters. 

Walking time: approx. 5 hours, approx. km, +1120 m / -360 m

Day 4: Kesch-Hütte - Bergün

On the way down into the valley you pass several alpine huts. The tour leads along a scenic path over a valley flank. Take good care: more than 5,000 ibex live in Graubünden - perhaps you can catch a glimpse of these shy contemporaries today. Back in civilization you can admire the historic village of Bergün with its beautiful Engadine-style houses. Walking time: approx. 5 - 6 hours, approx. km, +390 m / -1630 m

Day 5: Bergün – Jenatsch-Hütte

In the morning transfer up to the Albula Pass. From here you hike through the Val Bever to the Jenatsch hut. It is picturesquely situated at the foot of the highest mountain peaks in Graubünden. The hut wardens Fridli and Claudia will welcome you and even heat up the sauna on request. You will not forget the sparkling starry sky above the Jenatsch hut for a long time.

Walking time: approx. 5 hours, approx. 15 to km, +1485 m / -1285 m

Day 6: Jenatsch-Hütte - St. Moritz | Abreise

Again you will climb steeply until you reach Fuorcla Suvretta. Piz Picuogl, Piz Julier and Piz Albana guide your way to St. Moritz, one of the most famous winter sports resorts in the world. You will spend the night on the Suvretta heights with a wonderful view of the lakes of St. Moritz and Silvaplana. After arrival in St. Moritz individual departure. Walking time: approx. 5 hours, approx. km, +500 m / -1175 m


Tour character

Moderately difficult hikes with an average duration of about 5 - 6 hours. The tours mostly lead through alpine and rocky terrain. Surefootedness and good basic condition are required.


Arrival / Departure

Dates: Daily arrival, 02.07. - 25.09.

Arrival by public transport to Davos. Arrival/luggage drop-off until 10.00 am. Transfer up to Alp Clavadel (included in the price). Departure by public transport from St. Moritz. Luggage return at the luggage counter until 17:00 at the latest.
