The Sparkasse 3-Länder-Marathon will take place on 09.10.2022. The start is in Lindau (Lake Constance). The finish is in Bregenz. Due to special weather conditions, the organiser reserves the right to change the start and finish times.
Running on the shores of Lake Constance, always accompanied by an impressive Alpine panorama. The flat course leads from the harbour of the historic island town of Lindau in Germany to Austria, where a special highlight is running through the lake stage in Bregenz. The spectacular scenery of the play on the lake attracts 160,000 visitors every summer.
On a loop through Switzerland, it's Gruezi - Welcome - in St. Margrethen, where enthusiastic spectators carry the runners through the village centre. Then it's back along the Rhine to Austria where the runners pass through the venerable Mehrerau Monastery - for many a very special moment of silence and mental recharging before the finish line in the stadium in Bregenz awaits with a goosebump feeling.
60% of the route of the 3-Country Marathon runs along Lake Constance. The course runs mainly on asphalt roads and paths. It is very flat. From the lowest point (398 metres above sea level) to the highest point (415 metres above sea level), the total difference in altitude is only 17.0 metres, distributed over the entire course length of 42,195 metres.
In addition to different course lengths, there is also a great children's marathon specially designed for the youngest runners.
