Interlaken is located in the Bernese Oberland on an alluvial plain between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. Towered over by the three mighty mountains Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, the holiday resort is the starting point for numerous activities. The trains to the Jungfrau region in the direction of Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen start at Interlaken Ost station, connecting to the trains to Mürren and on to the Schilthorn and via Kleine Scheidegg to the Jungfraujoch. In winter, guests benefit from Interlaken's central location and the opportunity to choose their favorites every day from the ski areas of the Jungfrau Top Ski Region (Mürren/Schilthorn, Kleine Scheidegg/Mannlichen and First) or the family ski areas of Beatenberg and Axalp-Brienz. More than 45 cable cars, cable cars, chairlifts and ski lifts take athletes to 200km of slopes. Numerous excursions await in summer: excursion boats operate on Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, including a historic paddle steamer. Only ten kilometers from Interlaken, on a sunny south-facing slope, is Beatenberg-Niederhorn, a paradise for paragliders. A wide network of hiking routes opens up to hikers. Ibex, chamois and marmots live on the Niederhorn at 1950m. "The Hey Hotel" is the unconventional hotel in Interlaken, where the relaxed lifestyle is in the foreground. Everyone will find their personal mix of relaxation mode and outdoor action here.
